Student Publication in Computers in Biology and Medicine

We are thrilled to announce that Vishal Balaji Sivaraman, one of the MirthAI initiative’s PhD students, has published his latest work, “RetinaRegNet: A zero-shot approach for retinal image registration,” in the prestigious journal, Computers in Biology and Medicine.

Computers in Biology and Medicine is a highly regarded journal known for its interdisciplinary contributions to computational methods in healthcare. With an impressive impact factor of 6.9, the journal consistently publishes high-quality research that bridges the gap between computer science and medicine.

In his paper, he introduces RetinaRegNet, an innovative zero-shot framework designed to achieve precise retinal image registration. This novel approach leverages advanced deep learning techniques to address challenges in aligning retinal images without requiring task-specific training data. By reducing dependency on annotated datasets, RetinaRegNet holds promise for enhancing ophthalmological diagnostics.
